Mix and Sound Design - Red Bull: Out of Frame
I was contracted to mix and create additional sound design for this story about World Adaptive Surf Champion Dani Burt and was instantly drawn to the story and the dramatic surf sequences. These sequences presented a challenge for the project, because the ocean sounds were not cohesive and in many cases not usable. I pulled from the project audio and multiple sources of ocean sounds to carefully sculpt individual ocean waves, splashes and dips under the ocean’s surface (listen at 7:40)
The director also asked me to create a few sound design elements for moments in Dani’s story that needed an injection of energy and emotion. You can listen to some of these moments at 0:40 and 5:46.
