Mix and Sound Design, Original Music Track 02 (01:50) - Red Bull: Pushing Forward, Skakeboard Like a Girl
This was the second episode of Red Bull’s Pushing Forward series that I was contracted to mix. Several of the skate sequences either had no audio, or the audio was unusable. I created a library of skate sounds from the stock footage to pin tactile and dynamic skate sounds under montages that felt empty without it. The sequence at from 4:00 to 4:15 is an example of sourced footage where I had to create entirely new skate sounds.
With just two days to go before delivering a rough cut, the director had not found a piece of music that supported the nuance of a key sequence. I offered to work up a piece of music and quickly delivered a track that solved a problem for the director and was well received by the client (listen at 1:45)
